All my pictures are made using the wet felting technique where various fibres, predominantly wool, are laid down and with the addition of soap, water and friction the fibres are bonded together to create felt. The main fibres used in my art are merino wool, various silks and embellishments such as wool nepps (small felted wool balls), wool locks, pre-felt pieces and yarns.
Each piece is individually created and as the various fibres can felt to different degrees, no two designs will ever be completely the same.
I find inspiration all around me as I travel around Yorkshire and Lincolnshire; the Moors, Wolds and Dales being particular favourites. Changes in weather, times of day, the seasons alter the well-loved vistas and add new directions to my works.
